This book was recommended to me by a friend who knew I wanted to change something up in my life. I wanted to not only organize my home but also my life and this book helped a lot. Her method may seem rather extreme for some, but I have also experienced "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up". The konmari method guides you on your way to declutter and organize your entire home. I especially liked her tips and tricks on how to e.g. fold clothing. The combination of theoretical approaches of tidying up with with practical examples makes this book really worth reading it. Also - You really really want to start organizing and decluttering once you've read it!

Locker flockig und sympathisch unterhaltsam geschrieben. Schon beim lesen habe ich mir im Kopf gedanken gemacht, wie ich meine Wohnung (mal wieder) umräumen/optimieren möchte. Schon in den letzten Jahren habe ich immer mal wieder ausgemistet und durchsortiert. Ich denke, ein paar Bücher werden fliegen, bei Klamotten habe ich Angst - so viele besitze ich ja gar nicht mehr. Aber es ist ein schöner Gedanke, nur noch Dinge zu besitzen, die einen glücklich machen. Genug gefaselt, jetzt wird aussortiert und aufgeräumt 😁

Like a 1.5... there's some redeeming quality to being self-aware of the toxicity of hoarding capital unnecessarily but then it should be redistributed not discarded! And when it's mired in the toxicity of materialistic fetishization and consumerist apologizing it gets cringy. Not to mention how Kondo talks about home-ownership as normative and conversely frames houselessness as something to attempt imagining (for all its inconceivability) as a thought experiment on the horrors of not being able to organize one's world

Eeeendlich hab ich dieses Buch auch mal gehört. Habe es für umme bei Spotify gehört (das geht mit der App Spook und auf dem Tablet recht gut, wenn einen die Werbespots, die alle ca. 15 min kommen, nicht stören). Okay - die Dame ist ja irgendwie schon ein bissle abgespaced mit ihrer "Handauflegen"-Methode, bei der man immer "nachspüren" soll, ob sich Freude regt, wenn man ein Dings in der Hand hat... However, ich denke, ich teste es mal. Der Tipp, Klamotten zusammen zu rollen statt zu falten hat im Koffer bei der letzten Geschäftsreise schon mal gut funktioniert.

I understand the low star reviews and why they think Marie Kondos way of thanking her belongings sounds ridiculous but for me this book moved something in me. I found myself so often in this book that it truly felt like it was written for me. I think Marie's way of thinking and tidying is truly astounding and I want to incorporate everything she said into my life. Her way of living seems happy and content and I want to surround myself with things that bring me joy because life is to short to surround yourself with negativity! So know you can imagine what I will be up to now ;)
