I wanted to love this series so much that I have also purchased the books from The First Argentines series. I am gutted to say that, for the time being, they will just be sitting on my (virtual) shelf. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and this one wasn’t too bad. However, I’ve DNF’d the third book when I was about 30%. There was no character development, and the magic system keeps conveniently adjusting to the characters’ needs. Also, being “fountain blessed” was supposed to be super rare, but it seems like everyone and their mother has magic. Sorry, I need more consistency
