I actually like the idea of the story. About vessels, celestials, and artifacts. The setting is also good, a closed city with it's different facets. Sandis and Rone are also good as characters. What I do not like is the fact that one thing seems to be happening after the other. She is a vessel, her friend dies brutally, she runs away, she runs away, she runs away, they run away, they run away, they run away. Then they rent an inn. Then they run away, then run away, then run away. And it goes on and on. It felt like it was working towards one climax after the next.
