This book leaves me confused in many ways. Do I like it? I don’t know. Do I understand the world? Mostly, but with all the visions, riddles and betrayal there are more than a few loose threads. Do I like the characters? That’s the question I struggle the most with. On the positive side is that they are complex and flawed - and I do see some realistic growth happening. However the romance part is - like in most romantasy books - just so overdramatic. And of course I wouldn’t be reading this, if I would not enjoy some drama around romance. But why are the MMC always so obsessed with the FMC, that they loose their own character and loyalty? -Some spoilers from here - The cave chapter just made me so angry. The beeeetrayal. Yes, Luka & Tessa have some kind of bond, I get it, but where is the chemistry? And Theon sacrificing the whole realm? And them all being ok with that? I don’t know… it’s just too much.
