"In the Event of Love" transports you to a classic Christmas movie setting in a charming small town called Fern Falls. The main character, Morgan, leaves the town after high school graduation to pursue a career in the big city. However, after a public scandal, she returns to the small town, only to confront the problems she left behind. The story unfolds quickly, especially the love story, which functions as a second chance love story. It took me a while to warm up to the main characters, Morgan and Rachel, but their character changes were well-written and unfolded throughout the plot. I particularly enjoyed the description of Fern Falls; the atmosphere is incredibly cozy. The attention to detail in the events enhanced the sense of warmth and unity. The main plot was somewhat predictable, which wasn't a drawback in this case, as the book focuses on the festive mood rather than action. "In the Event of Love" offers a quick, cozy (and spicy) journey into a small town during the holidays. A recommendation for those craving an entertaining story that captures the festive feeling of Christmas.
