Where Did You Go is the third book in the Infatuated Fae series by Jeneane O’Riley and it was one of my most anticipated releases of 2025 (before I found out book four is dropping just half a year later… damn girl 📚🔥) I was so excited to return to the story of Calypso, Mendax and Aurelius. We follow them on their journey to Moirai and through all the emotional chaos that happens along the way. This time we get three POVs which I really enjoyed. Especially getting a deeper look into Eli’s inner world was such a highlight for me 💫 ⚠️ Mild spoilers ahead, read at your own risk The trio’s journey to Moirai felt unnecessarily slow and dragging. O’Riley tried to add some stakes to keep things tense and moving, but honestly it still could’ve been wrapped up way quicker. Then suddenly the last 20 to 25 percent just rushed through everything. By the end I felt like a lot of threads were left hanging and the emotional moments didn’t hit as deeply as they should have. But my biggest disappointment, and the thing that left me feeling kind of robbed, was how quickly Cal and Eli were suddenly okay with being just friends. Like… hello??? We had so many moments full of tension and longing. The chemistry between them was undeniable. And then we’re told it’s just a deep, soulmate-level friendship? I didn’t believe that for a second 🫠 Also. Prince “If you do not get your pretty little ass up that tree and out of danger in the next three seconds I will drag you up by your pretty little throat. Fucking go!” Aurelius??? I might be switching teams because wow 😮‍💨 Then there’s Mendax. What even happened to him? Our dark, dangerous morally questionable fae suddenly got soft, and his connection with Cal felt nothing like it did in the first two books. Their dynamic left me cold and that really surprised me. Even his threats started sounding repetitive and kind of empty. Overall I’m disappointed, not because this was a bad book, but because it could have been so much more. Yes I am salty about the threesome we didn’t get 👀 The ending does give us a juicy cliffhanger that had me conspiracing and guessing, but there are still a lot of loose ends and unanswered questions. Let’s see what book four brings… 🖤

Ich liebe die Infatuated Fae Serie, die bisher leider zu Unrecht relativ unbekannt ist. Auch Band 3 hatte tolle und witzige Momente zwischen Caly, Mendax und Eli und ich freue mich bereits auf Band 4.

Ah these quotes got me giggling and crying and all kind of things. The book was missing something compared to the second “what did you do?” But i still adore the series. I finished right when it was getting started. Cant eait for the next one. Just a small teas of what your getting yourself into reading this book. - - - - - - ("You may be her father, Zef, but I'm her daddy now." I smirked. ) My favourite quote of all time.
