It was okay

I don’t know why, but every single book after the third book seemed a little bit stretched out plot wise. In this book while killing his next victim, Dexter has a visitor that runs away before Dexter can do anything. That person saw how Dexter killed another person and starts blackmailing him per email to threaten him and also make him feel uneasy because someone saw him and is about to spoil everything to the rest of the world which could mean that Dexter ends up in prison. Around the same time the Miami PD has to deal with a killer that kills cops and detectives with a hammer while they were still alive by breaking every single bone while they are alive and then they die due to all of the wounds and the pressure. After a couple days, Dexter is getting blackmailed and is firstly just dismissing this but it turns out that the person knows a lot and actually saw all of the killing and that specific building where Dexter killed someone and was seen so Dexter has to come up with a plan to find out who saw him and to make that person silent forever. I really have a hard time deciding how to rate this book because it took me a lot of time actually starting it and I feel like I started the second time and only then I was actually able to read this book and actually wanting to read it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the book or any of the other two, but for me the plot seemed stretched out and therefore felt like a filler chapter was happening every second chapter
