the themes of internal homophobia and the relationship with a catholic family when you're gay... they are just so well done here. patrick ness is an iconic author and his stories hit so hard!

Kinda disappointed because well A monster calls had made me want this to be big, like really big. Anyway, the book did tackle a lot more than just one subject/ topic and the writing is of course beautiful!
