Ein Muss für jeden Golden Girls-Fan 🔪🌴
Love the Golden Girls, liked the book
I am a huge fan of the "Golden Girls", I watch it constantly as my comfort show and can quote it in my sleep. So of course I was excited, when I found out there's gonna be a cozy-murder-mystery book about my four favorite seniors (the murder-mystery episode in season 7 is one of my all-time favorites). The story is quite simple, Rose's cousin (who calls her aunt Rose, because of the age gap) is getting married and a few days before the wedding a dead body is found, one that is somehow connected to one of our four girls. Who did it and how are the girls gonna prove they're innocent? It was a simple read (even for me as English is not my first language) with much of the known humor from the show and little easter eggs about it sprinkled throughout. I could really hear their four voices in my head as I was reading, although I couldn't grasp some of the choices they made in the book when comparing it to the show. I would have liked to have seen more perspectives, as the book relies heavily on two of the characters, leaving the other two somewhat neglected. And (like the show) the book works best and is the most fun when all four are together. I might not read it a second time (other than re-watching the show over and over again) but I will definetly buy the second book "Death on the Lanai".
