Just like the Empress of Salt and Fortune the ending caught me by complete surprise :D I thought this was gonna be a completely different story and then it was not and even though rushed, I adore that. Because this is a cautionary tale about how stories can be deceitful and how we get manipulated into anticipating certain roles and plot points and that makes us vulnerable. Fabulously crafted and I quite enjoyed that the protagonist was not prone to that either, they are not infallible and a chosen one. This series is just sooooo gooooood it’s beyond!! CNs for death, murder, erratic behaviour that gets read as mental illness by some characters, deceit, seduction
