Another book that I tried reading during the last couple weeks of December and another book that I read within a day now this book is just so weird. I don’t know what to tell you about it so I don’t really have anything to say about it. I did not really enjoy it. It was okay but then it got really weird and like supernatural so it went from realistic to not realistic and then to totally absurd so I was glad that I finished it but I’m not really recommending it.

Sam's father stood burying a child in the forest when she 12. This she knew. Scared she ran and told her mother. This she did. Her father died and was labeled a murderer. Years later, Sam has no choice but to endure the reading of her grandfather's will. Everyone gets a cut, but Sam's cut isn't handed to her. To earn her inheritance Sam must return to Payne's Hollow, live in the cottage on the land where she found her father that night, and discover that nothing stays dead or buried for long in Payne's Hollow.

3.75 Stars This book started out pretty slow for me. It took a bit to get into and I was debating if I wanted to keep going. I'm so glad I did. While, it feels like it drags, the second Sam gets to the cottage this book takes off and does not let you have a moment to breathe. After that first night, I could not put the book down. There was so much that seemed to happen in the span of under 300 pages [BOTM Edition], but it was in a way that was well rounded. Sure, I kind of predicted the ending a little bit. [I always have a set of auto guesses at the start of any book like this] I was still pleasantly questioning each thing that happened. Overall, this was a well written book that had me on the edge of my seat at times and not wanting to put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen.
