This story plays a few years after the sixth movie and now we get to see Leia Organa as a Senator working for the new republic which seems to fail its citizens. Desperate to do something one last time before stepping down as Senator, she gets thrown into a plot that threatens the new republic with a new war on the horizon. I love Leia, she's one if my favourite characters. And seeing her getting addressed as Senator Organa made me think of Bail Organa which reminds me of all the horrific things that have happened before the downfall of the empire. I cried multiple times. As one does when reading or watching Star Wars related media. This was an intriguing story and if you want to read more about Leia, then I highly recommend this one. It does have a kind of open end, but the book does tie right into the seventh movie, so it makes sense. It is still enjoyable without having watched the sequels though (haven't watched them either and dunno when or if I will). I listened to the "Young Leia" soundtrack from the Kenobi series and while Leia is way older in this book, it still fits perfectly and made me cry even more.
