I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. Rowan the man he is … he did not disappoint me by any means. Maybe at first glance you’d think he’s just good looking but looking deeper you can see his heart, the kindness behind his eyes and the love he has for the people he cares for. He’s more than a “hotshot” (still has a dirty mind tho lol). Violette went probably through enough in her life. Don’t want to go into detail so I’m not gonna spoil anything. But you can see the hurt and trauma that she went through. Crossing paths w Rowan again healed something in her. Which just only shows that you don’t have to be fully healed to be open to someone new. Sometimes the right people heal something within you. And I guess that’s a beautiful thing. All in all, I liked the writing style, loved the characters, and the love between them.

A deeply emotional story that shines through its characters and the way it handles heavy topics. It’s not a light read but definitely one that stays with you.
„Protect“ was an absolute emotional rollercoaster for me. I cried way too many times. The way grief and loss are portrayed felt so real, it honestly hit very close to home. One of my biggest highlights was the character development. Watching Rowan and Violette grow throughout the story felt natural and realistic. Their journey was full of healing and personal growth. I loved them both from the very beginning and found it easy to empathise with them. As for the plot there were moments where it felt a bit drawn-out and slow-paced, which slightly affected the flow at times. But the plot twists were perfectly placed and brought the excitement right back, making it almost impossible to put the book down.
