Naja, die Idee ist ganz nett, aber man merkt deutlich, dass das Buch in Eigenregie und ohne Lektorat veröffentlicht wurde. Es hat sehr viele Wiederholungen, Teile der Geschichte sind unlogisch, handlungsstränge verlaufen im Sande,... Da es aber in der zweiten Hälfte doch recht interessant war, bekommt es von mir 3 statt 2 Sterne.

I started this book with almost no expectations and hardly no clue what it was about. I was immediately sucked into the dystopian world. Beth Revis fast-paced writing style, which I already loved in the Godspeed triology, made it pretty easy to progress in this book. The world-building was absolutely amazing and the setting was really unique. A dystopian Malta, how cool is that?! The story was thrilling and exciting, spiced with a few wtf-moments. It was messing with my mind, which I only found a bit too much at the end of the book. I liked Ella as a character, a young self-conscious woman who can fight for herself. Jack was cute too but remained a bit too shallow. Absolutely recommend for Beth Revis fans and those who love a good dystopian read.
