Totale Empfehlung!

„…I’m beginning to suspect that tough shell of hers is there for a reason. That perhaps it’s hiding something…
…so fragile she’s not sure it could survive out in the open.”
Damn that was really good and totally different from any sports/college/coach-student romance I've ever read. Olivias character was super exciting to read about. Her trauma and her ‚issues' (lets call it that) are so interesting and i loved slowly getting more information and seeing her try to handle her life on her own. She is such an impressive character!! And her personal story adds perfectly to the immaculately paced romance that was building up between Liv and Will. How her issues drew the two of them together and created some interesting scenes. It cooperates so great. And was done perfectly. The two aspects of the book align seemlessly without it feeling forced or anything. And not even getting started on The hate and banter. Slowly falling for each other. Knowing it shouldn’t happen. Knowing it’s forbidden. Giving in. Refusing to acknowledge their feelings. It was done so great. I need to check out more from this author!!!! An awesome combination of a cute romance and a character trying to deal with her past. ——————second read: that I have over 40 highlights on my kindle should be enough of an answer whether or not I still adore this book. I may do even more than after the first read. Olivia and Will just make me happy and cry and happy-cry. And yes: I did, in fact, check out more by the author and I’m in love with everything Elizabeth O’Roark writes and creates. I believe this woman can’t do bad. 5
elizabeth o’roark is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors. will and liv had me in tears
First of all the tropes: coach x student? forbidden romance? I can officially say now that I finished my first romance book with the trope coach x student and all I can say is that it is approved by me. Olivia is a kind hearted person who had a very bad past. She is suffering from trauma and a repression mechanism characterized by sleepwalking. Despite her bad past, Olivia never gives up, which proves her toughness even more. Will is hot, teaches a women's racing group and had to give up his dream job after the loss of his father. Therefore the new feeling that Olivia awakens in him is all the more difficult for him and makes him question his current circumstances even more. You need to belive me when I say that the progress of them building such a strong bond over the time, makes you so incredibly happy to watch and be a part of it. The path between forbidden and not forbidden is kept narrow, but it was clear to me right from the start that both will find to each other, no matter what will come. Will would do anything for Olivia and the fact that he cares about her more than he probably should made me incredibly happy because she clearly deserves a man who plans to show her that love can be beautiful and genuine and not always ugly and painful.
