So in „some choose darkness“, the first book of this series, I wasn’t entirely sure if Rory was also on the autism spectrum, but in this one it was very clear and talked about often. I really love her character and how her mind works. How she knows exactly how to handle her life and what she wants/needs to do, in order to be the happiest. Lane is an amazing partner for her and they both balance each other out perfectly. The end of the book is giving the vibes that it is not the last one, so here’s to hoping that we soon get a third one in the series. I expected this book to start off with the girl from book one, whose doll Rory repaired. And while we did get a tiny glimpse of that, it was not the case in question. But this case was really interesting and also kept you guessing for a long, long time. I did have a bad feeling a little earlier than Rory did, but that girl has some instincts! And she fights with all her might when needed. Truly another fascinating book/case.
