"Omg I hate Dan." - "Omg I hate Nate" were probably the most thought thoughts by me while reading. Seriously, Dan is a sick basterd (seriously sick, barely eats, smokes like a chimney, drinks liters of coffee and writes cryptic poems) while Nate is simply a jerk (as in: pothead extraordinaire, can't make up his mind of either Blair or Jenny and simply can't commit to ANYTHING. Stay with your drugs, Natie). The most fun things to read were the St.Barts parts and Serena and Blair trying to avoid the boys (who were really annoying, so totally understandable). I like book Serena better than show Serena. She seems more carefree and happier than in the show. And hey, more Chuck and Blair interactions! :D Okay, they really aren't a thing and never will get to be one. Book Chuck is really sleazy and disgusting (but described as really handsome, so point for that). I mean, it says all that he kissed Blair on New Year's Eve and she simply spat after that? Haha :'D And he tried to seduce her at the beginning of the book but she's simply too disgusted by him. So I see how show and book meet but also how the book took off then and how the show turned events. Sooo, 2 stars because the book wasn't very eventful and the writing style easy as ever. Although I WILL continue to read the series since I'm kinda hooked now and it's enjoying enough to do so. Call me weird.

4 out of 5 stars because it isn't s bad read but not the most exciting and hard one. The language is pretty easy. Compared to the show the plot of the book is the pilot of the show. The characters are either similar or really different from the show. I either liked some characters more or less, which is good so I won't get bored with the books. The books really tell a lot of 'scandalous' stuff that gets left out in the show which I think is really cool. I still need to grasp the fact of how these books got so popular in America but oh well, some things simply do. I will continue this series since I wanna know how it turns out :) (btw I really think Nate's a jerk here?! And Chuck as disgusting as ever.)

this one didn’t age well and could basically use all the content warnings but it’s perfect material for a guilty pleasure, so that’s what it is for me also, very disappointing that they cut communist daddy humphrey out of the show. their cat is even called marx, so that move of the director was a loss if you ask me.
