4.5/5 stars
Didn't know what to make of it in the beginning. But now that I'm finished I'm wondering what took me so long to read this.
Something about Larsson’s writing, and I can’t quite put a finger on it, makes this book absolutely impossible to stop thinking about. It goes beyond being just a detective novel, building a world that’s just as captivating as it’s plot, and characters that are complex and nuanced.
A solid 4.5⭐️. I literally stayed up for 24hrs to finish this book, and I might just go another 24hrs and make it 48 so I can finish the second book. Basically this book made me a hostage. I really didn't want to read it because of all the hype about the movie and story and I felt like I wouldn't enjoy it but this was really intriguing. The start was slow but it got interesting after 30%. I loved how in essence this was two mysteries in one. I kinda speculated in the beginning what had happened to Harriet but I was so wrong!! I think the 4 stars are with respect to how the story would have played out had Salander been a relative and Harriet her mother. I wonder how that would have played out. All in all definitely a fan!
