Magic, Faith, and a Baby Pterodactyl The Geomagician is a compelling read with its mix of adventure, historical setting, and something a little different: the integration of Christian faith into the magical system - or better said, the oppression of capital F Faith towards nature magic. I was extremely intrigued by how the author wove religion and magic together - it made me think so much about real life events while still keeping me in the plot. That's not something I often experience in fantasy. Mary Anning is a fantastic, headstrong FMC. I loved seeing her navigate a male-dominated world and earn every bit of respect she gets. Her determination and cleverness made her impossible not to root for. And of course, Ajax, the baby pterodactyl, is 100/10 adorable. The story has a wonderful rhythm: cozy, almost tender moments give way to tense, edge-of-your-seat sequences, especially as the mysteries around the magic and the world unfold. And those twists toward the end added a layer of depth I hadn’t expected at the start, making the story feel richer than I anticipated. 4/5 stars Thank you @netgalley and @delreybooks for the eARC! #TheGeomagician #Netgalley #Bookstagram
