Schade, dass die Reihe hiermit zu Ende geht 🥺 Auch das dritte Buch konnte mich wieder fesseln und zum Lachen bringen. Zelda fand ich richtig toll und auch Peter ist eine absolute Süßmaus! Ich habe am Anfang ein wenig gebraucht um in die Story reinzukommen, aber dann konnte ich es kaum weglegen und den Plottwist habe ich auch nicht kommen sehen. Ich war auch richtig happy, dass wir noch mal von Frederick und Reggie hören, die beiden sind einfach Zucker. Das erste Buch ist nach wie vor mein Liebling aber ich freue mich darauf die Reihe irgendwann mal am Stück hintereinander lesen zu können, man vergisst dann ja doch ein paar Details zwischen den Erscheinungsdaten. Aber jetzt bin ich vor allem auf das Grim Reaper Buch der Autorin gespannt 👀

This book honestly hit that exact cozy, warm, slightly goofy rom-com vibe I always go back to when life feels a bit too loud. Jenna Levine’s vampire series has become such a comfort space for me, and it makes me genuinely sad that this is the last installment. She writes with this soft, warm humor that isn’t about big twists or intense action — it’s about feeling held by a story. And this one did exactly that. I’ll be real: I didn’t read it at the perfect time in my life. I was exhausted, busy, and not in my usual reading flow. But even then, I still enjoyed it. The road trip setup, the glimpses into his past, the little moments of humor — all of it felt sweet and easy in the best way. What I loved most was the theme. Both characters have messy, not-so-great pasts (him as “Fang-for-Hire,” her as a witch who made her share of mistakes), but the book really leans into how people can change when they actually want to. His character growth — losing his memories, falling in love, and still choosing to be better even after getting his memories back — was adorable in a way that really stuck with me. There were a few things that bothered me, though. The breakup conflict didn’t fully land for me. I get why it happened, but considering he literally risked his life for her, the lack of trust felt a bit thin. And there were some grammar mistakes sprinkled throughout the book that pulled me out of the story more than once. But overall? Still such a cute, feel-good read. Cozy, funny, soft — exactly the vibe I expect from Jenna Levine. Her books aren’t loud, dramatic romances; they’re rom-coms. And she nails that niche every single time. I’m really going to miss this series, honestly.

Nachdem ich doch sehr begeistert von Teil 1 und 2 war und die Latte entsprechend hoch lag, war das hier zumindest im Mittelteil etwas enttäuschend. Eine Roadtrip Story über eine Hexe im Ruhestand (und Undercover Yogi) und einen Vampir mit Amnesie klingt wie der Anfang von nem guten Witz. Der Anfang war in der Hinsicht auch genau was es versprach, witzig charmant, die Figuren greifbar und sympathisch bis zum Ende. Im Mittelteil, sprich auf der Roadtrip war dann aber irgendwie n bisschen die Luft raus. Klar die erotische Spannung zwischen beiden Figuren war sehr gut, aber nach dem "Hühnchen Moment" - sehr witzig - wurden so viele Chancen vertan den Humor der diese Reihe trägt durch Situationskomik aufzugreifen. Die schrulligen Nebenfiguren waren dann kaum vorhanden und irgendwie fehlt für mich was im Vergleich. Das Buch war dann zwar auch ein bisschen ernster kurz und beim kleinen Plottwist auch spannend, das Ende durchaus rund, doch ich bin nicht durch die Seiten geflogen mit meinem Dauergrinsen oder Schmunzeln, für das ich die Reihe so zu lieben gewonnen hab. Peter und Zelda sind beide toll, zusammen und einzeln für sich. Zeldas Magie Problem wurde mir aber doch sehr antiklimaktisch gelöst...schade für die Figurenentwicklung. Das Ende war versöhnlich, letztlich dafür verantwortlich dass ich 4 statt 3 1/2 Sterne vergebe.
