Bei diesem Buch ist das Vorwort sehr wichtig. Die Autorin beschreibt, dass sie ähnliche Erfahrungen mit christlichen Religion gemacht hat wie die Protagonistin - nämlich negative. Dennoch weißt sie darauf hin, dass dennoch viele Menschen Kraft und Zusammenhalt aus dieser Glaubensgemeinschaft ziehen. Diese Dualität kann koexistieren und ich persönlich finde, dass das in diesem Buch wunderbar gelungen ist. Ich habe meine persönliche Meinung zu Religion allgemein, aber fernab davon, hat mir der Plot und der Schreibstil überraschend gut gefallen. Da ich auch ein theater-kid bin, konnte ich mich sehr mit der Protagonistin identifizieren. Sie macht eine schöne Entwicklung durch und auch die anderen Figuren im Buch, fand ich sehr gut konstruiert. Die TWs, besonders im Hinblick auf “religiöses Trauma” sollten allerdings unbedingt beachtet werden.

. I can simply say this book is very gay and deals with some heavy church related stuff (you can imagine). I liked the plot with committing sins and showing how you can sin with a good meaning. Riley herself was certainly a strong personality and every chapter made me laugh with how fun the inner and outer dialogue was. The church theme was handled extremly well. It was deep, authentic and showed a negative and positive side to choosing how to believe and how you impact others. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 4.5 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀? ⭐ This book flowed so well and truly the only reason why it's 4.5 Stars is because Riley's personality was sometimes a tad bit much and I wished to have seen a bit 'more' of Julia. But in general the book was very enjoyably written and contains some lovely characters. The character stories and everything was woven together beautifully and I truly can recommend this book to anyone looking for a funny sapphic read.
