Torn between 3 and 4 stars The author‘s language is pure poetry, I never highlighted so many brilliantly written paragraphs in a book. The novel is divided into two parts: the first part is set in Scotland the 1980s - it’s about Jimmy and his friends , loving punk and grime, who are travelling down to Manchester for a music festival. I wish the author had continued with the story of young Jimmy and his friends growing up. Instead, there is a time leap to 2017. This part is quite a sad read. Despite it being well written, I did not enjoy it as much as the first part.
