I am dreading the day the series is over. Robin Hobb's writing draws you in, it's almost impossible to put her books down. This was very much a filler book but I wasn't bored in the least. I am so in love with the characters that no matter who Fitz interacts with I am always emotionally invested in some way. While we got to see less of the Fool than I would have liked, the scenes with him and his Beloved were charged with so much Angst and love and resentment that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I wanted to club Fitz over the head for his self-righteousness and moody ways a lot of the time but in the end he's so lovable and pitiful that I can't stay mad at him for long. Dutiful has really grown as a character and seeing a different side of Chade was interesting to say the least. And now I'm afraid I'll just have to jump right into the finale and try to pace myself with the last installment so I won't run out of Robin Hobb books.
