I did watch the show first so there really wasn’t much suspense. Though, the ending still had me on the edge of my seat. But also, what is up with George’s description? Like, I get <spoiler>Lucy doesn’t like him much in the beginning</spoiler>, but couldn’t that be shown without all the fatphobia??? George is literally my fave, my boy does not deserve that. He’s the only reason this book is funny. 

Nachdem ich die erste Staffel der Serie GELIEBT habe, musste ich die Reihe anfangen und dieser Auftakt hat mir echt sehr gut gefallen. Ich mag die Charaktere und die Atmosphäre mega gerne. Die Serie hat sich sehr stark am Buch orientiert, also hat man hier nicht wirklich mehr erfahren. Einige Dinge fand ich in der Serie tatsächlich auch etwas besser umgesetzt (z.B. George, Inspector Barnes, Norrie etc.). Alles in allem ist es aber eine Geschichte, die Spaß macht und ich will auf jeden Fall schnell weiterlesen.

[Spoiler Free Review] My god... What can I say, I am OBSESSSED. I have never loved a book series as much as this one. I will forever hate Netflix for cancelling the TV Show. The first season was AMAZING, there were some great additions and the casting was impeccable, I can only recommend it! And then you can join me in mourning. Anyways, the book was devoured in mere days and I immediately ordered the whole series. These books are only getting better. MUST BUY. There is NOTHING like this on the market and I wish people would get on this! :D

This was recommended to me by a friend because it wad her favourite series growing up and it did not disappoint! To be honest, I expected something a little different (f.e. I thought Lockwood would be the main character) but this was so much better than what I thought was going to happen. Characters, story, ghosts, I loved it! I admit, I saw the plot-twist coming from a mile away (since the very first time a certain person appeared, I just KNEW they were the culprit) but that didn’t take away from the enjoyment of reading. Also, I get that this is a children’s book but please, I NEED the juicy details on the serial killers etc that were mentioned but then conveniently interrupted for the sake of not making the book too dark for children. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

Eine super tolle gruselige Geschichte, die wirklich spannend und abwechslungsreich ist, ich fand es toll, dass es eigentlich einen deutlichen Protagonisten gibt, dieser jedoch die Geschichte nicht erzählt, sondern dies einer der Neben -Protagonisten macht. Ich fand das Ende sehr gelungen und hatte nie Langeweile. Ich freue mich auf Teil 2!

The story caught and captivated me right from the beginning - so I couldn't stop reading. It is written in a humorous and exciting way, but not toooo scary - so i would recommend it to anyone. The characters - one by one - are charming, sometimes a little naive but all in all surprisingly loveable!
