Al final le he dado 3 estrellas porque la 2ª parte del libro me ha enganchado porque lo que es la primera me ha parecido demasiadao lenta, no me enganchaba no se me esperaba otra cosa del libro y no veia la hora de terminar el libro pero a partir de la 2ª mitad es otra cosa que si quieres saber lo que pasa y lo mas bonito del libro es sin duda la historia de Sean con Corr ese final te parte el corazon para luego ♥

Obwohl ich nur positives über Maggie Stiefvater‘s The Scorpio Races gehört habe, wurde ich letztendlich doch überrascht WIE gut es mir gefallen hat. Manchmal müssen gar keine großen Fantasywelten erschaffen werden um hervorragende Fantasy zu schreiben. Dieses Buch ist der beste Beweis, dass schon ein kleiner Twist der Realität genügt um eine Welt voller Magie und Faszination für das unberechenbare zu erschaffen. Maggie Stiefvater erzählt dabei so lebendig und wortgewandt, dass ich mir kaum vorstellen kann nicht in einer Welt zu leben, in der caipaill usice, Wasserpferde, nicht exsistieren.

I’m still surprised that in a book called the scorpio RACES, the actual races only happen at about 90% of the book. Besides that, it’s a very slow and atmospheric story. I loved listening to the audiobook. The narrators did a good job and there was beautiful music included. The music was btw played by the author itself. She narrates the authors note, where she talks a lot about the mythical origins of her story. And how she plays six instruments! Her voice is so intriguing.

Es ist ein Weilchen her, dass mich ein Buch zum Weinen gebracht hat und ich hatte nicht unbedingt erwartet, dass es ein YA Buch mit Fokus auf Pferden tut but here we are. The Scorpio Races umfasst ein komplexes, düsteres und faszinierendes Fantasy Konzept, das für mich sehr einzigartig und interessant war. Aber worin Maggie Stiefvater wirklich brilliert, sind ihre Charaktere und deren Beziehungen zu einander. Und so toll ich die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Puck und Sean fand, macht es mich sehr glücklich, dass das nicht die einzige und größte Liebesgeschichte in diesem Buch war.

Zu dem Buch hab ich nicht viel zu sagen: Pferde, Pferde aus dem Meer, ein gefährliches Pferderennen, Menschen, die Pferde kaufen und verkaufen, ein Junge und ein Mädchen, die Pferde reiten, Happy End. Es war mein erstes Buch von Maggie Stiefvater und es wird vermutlich auch mein letztes gewesen sein. Es passiert einfach nichts und steckt voller Klischees. Vielen gefällt das Buch. Mir nicht.

Maggie Stiefvaters Schreibstil liebe ich generell immer sehr. Sie hat einfach ihre ganz eigene Art, mit Worten umzugehen und Geschichten zu schreiben.Die kurzen Kapitel und abwechselnden Sichten waren wirklich perfekt.Die Story an sich und die grundlegende Idee finde ich unglaublich interessant und sie konnte mich auch komplett begeistern.Besonders die capaill uisce waren wirklich faszinierend.Sowohl Story als auch Romance (die für mich noch ein klein wenig mehr hätte sein können, auch wenn sie natürlich nicht der Fokus war), waren Slow-burn, sodass man bis zum Ende wirklich komplett mitfiebern konnte.Auch das outcome des Rennens hätte jederzeit so oder so ausgehen können.Die Protagonisten mochte ich beide sehr von Anfang an. Sean war die perfekte ruhige Seele im Vergleich zu Pucks wilder Art.Auch das Setting war wirklich interessant und so unperfekt perfekt.

so, this is why the scorpio races is an absolutely brilliant piece of literature: 1. maggie stiefvater's writing is more than beautiful. her style is rich and poetic and yet never over the top. at this point, i've read all of her books twice or more, so i feel like her writing lives inside of me a little, but i can still objectively say that her use of language is extraordinary and no other author compares. 2. the characters in this book are everything. they are portrayed as complex human beings that don't make it easy for the readers to love them at first, but after finishing this book, you will feel like you've known them all your life. the clear, distinct voices the two narrators are given make that possible. 3. in theory, i know the setting of this book isn't real but i still feel like i've been there. even after reading this book so many times, i still can't say why thisby feels so real. the descriptions of the weather, the cold, the nature, the ocean are beautiful, sure, but there's something about how maggie stiefvater talks about it that makes me believe i could go there and see and touch everything! 4. the genius plot. "we can't both win." there's such clear stakes. the characters have so much to lose. they are so full of wanting that you start to want as well. and during my latest reread, i realised that this is why this book is so good! the character's goals are so clear and yet so hard to reach; we know from the beginning on that it's impossible for both of them to reach the goal. and there's a time limit: everything happens because of the race waiting at the end of the story. 5. THE USE OF THE COLOUR RED. i think i would genuinely enjoy writing an essay about the description of colours in this novel haha. i just think it's so clever and so beautiful. as is this whole book. because it's one of the best books ever written.
