After enjoying the first book of this series, I immediately continued with the second on. I loved this far more than the first book. The two main characters were so fun to read. I just loved Lord Blackthorn. Nothing more entertaining than a fairy trying to figure out human concepts and motivations. I think I just found a new trope for me. I need to find more fairy -history- romance books, any recommendations? Really liked the growing and changing theme of this book too. The heroine was a bit slow on the uptake but not annoyingly so. The general theme of classism was a bit in your face but could be ignored. I figured there would be an unbelievable happy ending, but it was actually a good ending with a realistic view on what was going to happen later on too. Actually read the whole book in one evening, couldn't stop reading. I've been searching for this kinda feeling in a book for quite some months now. Really happy I finally got an enjoyable read again.

I am a firm believer that certain media finds you at the points in life at which you are most able to resonate with it. That being said, this book found me at a time at which I was terribly unhappy with my employer - a sentiment the protagonist of this book shared with me, indeed. As a person that experiences the sentiment of anger on a regular basis, it felt refreshing to follow a female protagonist who is equally angry and driven to change her life for the better. Her counterpart might be one of the most exceptional and surprising male characters I have ever read. As a big fan of "Half a Soul" I enjoyed this book just as much as the previous one. It did make me want to pick up embroidery hoop back up again, too.

An einem Abend dir gelesen weil so schön war. Handlung war ohne große Überraschungen aber trotzdem interessant. Neben der Haupthandlung von dem Matchmaking a la Cinderella fand ich es schön wie jeder Charakter eigene Motivationen hatte und nicht nur gut oder böse war, was gerade bei dem Konflikt mit den Hausherren und Personal ein leichtes gewesen wäre diese nur negativ darzustellen. Die Story hat mich von sowohl dem Schreibstil als auch inhaltlich stark an das wandelnde Schloss erinnert was einer meiner Lieblingsromane ist. 5/5

Wie schon der Vorgänger, hat mir auch dieses Buch sehr gut gefallen, sogar fast noch mehr! Der Fokus liegt dieses Mal noch mehr auf der Klassenungerechtigkeit der Regency Zeit und den Frauen, die darunter leiden. Wieder sind Emotionen und ihre Wirkung und ihr Nutzen ein zentrales Thema des Buchs, das mich sehr abgeholt hat. Das Buch spielt mit den Erwartungen der Leser*innen bezüglich des Genres und der verschiedenen Charaktere und Elemente, so werden Faeries in diesem Buch ganz anders dargestellt als im ersten Band und auch der Romance Teil läuft anders als erwartet. Viele Stellen haben mir textlich so gut gefallen, dass ich Screenshots gemacht habe, um sie mir nochmal durchzulesen und als Zitate zu teilen. Besonders gefallen haben mir dabei oft die Stellen, in denen es um die positiven Aspekte von Wut und den ermächtigenden Zusammenhalt der Unterdrückten geht ✊🏼💙 Mein einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist, dass es mir an manchen Stellen vielleicht etwas zu programmatisch war, was mich teils ein bisschen rausgerissen hat, aber auch oft zum Nachdenken gebracht hat. Insgesamt ein tolles Buch, ich freue mich auf Band 3!
