The second book in this series does a lot of things different to the first and in most cases this is a good thing. The pacing in the beginning was pretty slow. It takes 25% of the book until the MCs are reunited and I was a little bored at times especially because I didn't feel the realtionship between them yet but thankfully after the first third the pacing picks up and the story focuses much more in it's interesting lore and developments in that area as well as the ongoing war which I enjoyed much more than the heavy character focused story the first one has. The writing is still really good, descriptions are really vivid and the different POVs feel different from one another which I really like. The ending was everything I could have hoped for and I am very excited and can't wait for the end of this series!

Okay. Holy shit. Ich habe keine Ahnung, was ich sagen soll. Das Sequel ist einfach mindblowing und ich will schreien und weinen und noch lauter schreien, weil Band drei noch nicht draußen ist. Was Tasha Suri da erschaffen hat, ist ... unglaublich. Ich liebe Jeevan und Ashok, Rao, Malini, Bhumika, Rukh, Priya ... fuck ich liebe sie einfach alle. Chandras Passagen waren so grausam und spannend und eindringlich, dass ich mich übergeben wollte und nur weinen konnte. Wie viel Mut kann man haben solche Charaktere und solch eine Welt zu erstellen? Tasha Suri: Ja. Wirklich, ich habe jede Seite verschlungen. Ihr Erzählstil war wieder großartig und es war spannend von Anfang bis Ende. Es ist, als hätte man alle Farben aus dem Regenbogen gesogen und nur ein grau hinterlassen, welches langsam zu schwarz wird. JA MAN, THAT’S MY JAM!
