Good start, but the final 25 % were extremely boring. Not going to read the follow-up novels.
This book was a gift and I probably wouldn't have bought it for myself. So I must admit I ways surprised. ;) Overall the way of the narrative feels a bit like 'Name of the wind', with some kind of uber-protagonist and a writer who basically writes down a told story. Another thing in parallel is the weird lack of a mentionable climax, there are lots of smaller conflicts during the hardships in he Sixth Order and later on, but most of them end pleasantly. The whole stories is really religious, with faith and beliefs as main issue among the realm and countries. So the real surprise is who is the main antagonist of the plot. Although I marked this review for containing spoilers, I suggest to see for yourself. :)
Hätte dem Buch wirklich gerne 5 Sterne gegeben, weil es unglaublich packend war! Letztendlich war das Ende jedoch etwas hart. Der Autor hätte Vaelin ruhig noch jemanden lassen können!
