That series is highly addictive! Mostly because of Terrible. The realtionship between Chess and Terrible is gets under your skin. I suffered from Chess' inability to get involved with Terrible. Terrible truly cares for Chess, even in her darkest hours. He feels something for her, even so he saw her flaws. He accepts her. And that scares her and she so she runs away... Without Terrible i would only give 3 stars. The general storyline reminds me too much of the first book. Chess gets an assignment from the Church and the drug lords. In the end both cases are connected. I also had a problem reading 4-5 pages about Chess' addiction, about her withdrawal or the cosy world of oblivion provided by drugs. That's a bit too much for me. And honestly i skipped those pages. Nevertheless the books is worth reading, even so it leaves you devastated and aching for the sequel.
