It took a while for the story to pick up the pace. The winning points are the narrators - an illiterate boy and a self-conscious AI in a media player. It's new and intriguing. It's not as fast paced as advertised on the cover. The reader spends a lot of time in Kolis head with his slow thinking. I got impatient by the end, wanting things to finally escalate and move onto a grander scale, which they do. The end leaves the reader with a journey that has just begun. Impossible not to pick up the sequel.
