I like retellings of well-known tales and myths and this book is no exception. The reimagination of five fairy tale characters and their personal trauma that is dug up in group therapy sessions was quite creative. At times, I felt a lack of connection between the individual stories. A solid three stars for this easy and enjoyable read.

This book is so interesting and I love how it highlights some serious real-world issues such as sexism, body shaming, and mental health. Although some parts were slightly odd, everything tied together so nicely in the ending. It is definitely a “food-for-thought” kind of book.
