This has been my second J. D. Salinger read (the first being The Catcher in the Rye), so I can't say too much about the authors' writing. What I can say is that this short story has been well rounded! You get to know the main characters as well as you might in a short story, there's enough background that you know where the story is set in and enough events happening that the storytelling doesn't feel empty. I felt with the main character – the emotions were transported well. All in all, I enjoyed reading it!
