How Man and Pig blend into one
„Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished for ever. Man is the only creature that consumes without producing“ A lesson about political power that will never fail to remain relevant. I don’t know why I haven’t read George Owell sooner, since this is a great example of how quickly political abuse can happen. I’m fascinated by how simple yet impressive concepts like propaganda and gaslighting are illustrated. It’s a mirror to everyone who believes the animals to be blind or too stupid to unterstand what’s happening. It’s a perfect allegory for the creeping rise of totalitarianism emerging from a revolution for equality and freedom. ‚Animal Farm‘ is a reminder for humanity to be careful whom to trust and to scrutinize the societal system further instead of following blindly like the sheep. The writing is easy to understand, which makes this book a thoughtful literature for young and old.
