so... i really don't know how to rate it. starting with the positives: - i LOVE character-driven thrillers, and this one did deliver in terms of the characters. they were really interesting and flashed out, each of them had their distinct voice that helped me to be immersed in the atmosphere of the book. - i kind of liked the ambiguity of the ending. - the atmosphere, again, was superb. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time and couldn't sleep until i finished it. and... the negatives: - i said that i liked the ambiguity of the ending but it wasn't as shocking as it could be. every thriller reader could predict the ending in the first 10 pages, i think. (i don't know, people seem to be shocked by the ending, so maybe i am not right.) so... i liked and hated the ending at the same time. - it didn't bring anything new to the table. not for a second during my reading was i shocked by anything that happened. almost everything was very predictable. all in all, my experience with the book was good. but i need a little more time to decide on my rating.
