I recently read Peter Pan for the very first time of my life and didn't like it at all (it seems as if I am finally to old for tales, huh?). However, the idea of telling Tiger Lily's story kind of got me interested as she happend to be the most interesting character in the original Peter Pan novel. Especially cause it's Tinker Bell telling the story. Turns out that apparently I can't read any book staring Peter himself because he's basically everything I don't like about people (selfish, arrogant and thinks he's better than anyone else), however, I enjoyed "Tiger Lily" more than the original tale. The writing style was decent and having the story told by Tinker Bell was a really interesting way of approching the things happening. Plus I really enjoyed Tiger Lily, Pine Sap and Moon Eye as characters. However, the story did not blow me away as much as I hoped it would. It wasn't until the last few pages and the letter in particular that I decided to give this novel a 3 star rating instead of only 2 stars. "Tiger Lily" is a decent read and I assume that if you like Peter Pan, you will definatley enjoy the story from another person's POV.

Definitely one of my favorite books. It's been five months since I've finished this book and I'm still in love with it. Actually I've been looking for similiar books but haven't found any yet that reaches this one. First of all, even though English is not my native language I had so much fun reading this book because the language is so poetic and makes you dream. For me it really transports Neverland and its mystical adventures right into my room. That's what a real good book does to you! And I completely fell in love with Tiger Lily's character. Some may not really get her and her actions but for me she was perfect and a personality I longed for in the written world. Though I'm not that kind of reader who re-reads her books again, I'd totally do it with Tiger Lily!

Rating: 2.5 I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that everyone seems to love this story but I didn't feel anything while reading this. The story fell flat to me and the characters were confusing. I always thought about all the characters in a different way. Tiger Lily, Peter, Tink, Hook and Smee all were very different to what I'm used to. Most of all Smee. He was a total different character and I didn't like his portrayal in this book. The pacing was off as well and I didn't get the whole romance between Peter and Tiger Lily. It was very unromantic and I couldn't care less about it. Maybe that's why I wasn't overly sad about the ending. All in all I expected a different story and I was kind of sad that I didn't like it like everyone else. PS: the only thing that made me really sad was Tik Tok's story. That was really horrible and I was devastated at the end.
