I received an advance reader copy of King of Ashes in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank Raymond E. Feist and Harper Voyager. So, most all of the other reviews have given the basic premise of the book so I’m not going to go over that again. I don’t write reviews often, but as this was an ARC it’s only fitting to hold up my end. What did I think of this book? Well, I very rarely finish a book if I don’t enjoy the authors voice. Since I did finish it, you can be comforted that after the long silence Raymond E. Feist’s writer’s voice is not rusty. While I am not a fan of the political intrigue angle these days as much as I used to be when I read books like George R. R. Martin’s GOT back in the 90’s, the balance was enough that I never really wanted to put it down and moved on to something a little less political.
