It is and ever will be my favorite book of all time ❤

I was very positively surprised about Cat not being an annoying and whiny first-person narrator. Generally she is not a whiny-character at all, but rather independent, tough and ass-kicking. She has a good portion of black humor and sarcasm and is relatively realistic and self-critical. Sometimes she is bit too moody, and in the end incoherent in her decision making process (at least in my opinion). The vampires in the book are very „classic“ when it comes to superhuman strength and speed, being not the least fond of daylight, and dying when staked. The relationship developing between Cat and Bones is inevitable and expected to happen right from the start. It does develope quite naturally though and Cat’s thoughts appeared very coherent to me on their way from seeing Bones as a blood-sucking bastard to being completely head over heels for him. A very understandable process since Bones is an eye-candy as well as just simply totally awesome (and British)! Explicit content warning: contains passionate love-making scenes, vast amount of profanities, and multiple depictions of violence. A very entertaining read that gets 4 out of 5 drops of blood!
I gave it 3 stars because I didn't like the characters too much. They were too stereotypical (?) for me and too unlikeable. Plus I wanted to hit Cat's mom in the head for acting like a possessed demon at some moments. The end although made the book much better and more interesting. The writing style was good, but I don't know yet if I want to continue the series. Maybe I'm not the person for a classical vampire novel or I just didn't like that book.
