Gefühlt die Nachfolge von Gomorrha
Das Buch fühlt sich an, wie die Weiterführung von Gomorrha, das Buch ist sehr ähnlich aufgebaut, bezieht sich auf die Einflüsse von Kokain in der Welt. Von Kolumbien, über Mexiko, Russland, Italien oder auch Deutschland. Vieles war halt leider nicht so neu, wenn man sich schön öfter mit dieser Thematik befasst hat, vor allem mit den südamerikanischen Kartellen, die den Großteil des Buches einnehmen. Der Schreibstil ist wieder Saviano typisch, gut umschrieben, klare Fakten, gut zu lesen aber trotzdem immer etwas langatmig. Da es für mich nur bedingt neue Informationen in diesem Buch gab, ziehe ich ein paar Sterne ab, wem aber Gomorrha gefallen hat und vielleicht noch gar nicht so tief in selber Materie steckt, wird dieses Buch auch sehr gefallen.
Für meinen Geschmack der falsche Fokus
So weh es mir tut, weil mein Respekt vor Saviano und dem gewaltigen Opfer unendlich groß ist, das er mit Gomorrha gebracht hat, kann ich dem Buch keine allzu gute Bewertung lassen: Mir war das Thema zu groß, die Behandlung der großen Strukturen und Zusammenhänge teilweise zu schmal und an anderen Stellen, die wenig Tiefe zulassen, zu breit. An Gomorrha hatten mich genau die Verstrickungen zwischen mafiösen Strukturen und neapolitanischer Wirtschaft angesprochen, deren Darstellung hier nicht gut gelingt. Stattdessen werden oft eine halbe Ewigkeit verschiedene Schicksale minutiös aneinandergereiht oder Auflistungen vorgenommen, die mich persönlich nicht weitergebracht haben. Oftmals war mir schlichtweg nicht einmal klar, welche Rolle die jeweilige Person, über die nun berichtet wird, gerade einnimmt - und letztlich hat man auch den Eindruck, gar keine - weil jedes menschliche Schicksal angesichts der Dimensionen gleichbedeutend unbedeutend wird. Mit dem sprunghaften, teils locker-essayistischen, teils objektiven und teils reflektiert-reflexiven bis in den philosophischen Stil wirken die einzelnen Kapitel oder Abschnitte merkwürdig sprunghaft; irgendwie passt alles nicht zusammen, wenngleich die Stringenz im dritten Viertel klarer wird und vor allem das Ende wirklich toll ist. Am Ende bleibt mir persönlich wenig von dem Buch, weil das Thema meiner Meinung nach undankbar war und die persönliche Involviertheit von Gomorrha fehlt. Das heißt keinesfalls, dass es das letzte Buch war, das ich von Saviano lesen werde. Aber Zero Zero Zero würde ich nicht weiterempfehlen und auch nicht noch einmal lesen.
