I don't get all the hate about this book. It is a fun read, Robin is a character that I learned to love and overall I laughed and cried a lot during this. Louise did so well and I feel like her representation of a single mom is accurate because she focuses on the problems that a single mom has to face. Her writing style was also easy to read, not too complex, which made this the perfect beach read for me.

1.5 stars. I, for sure, did not make a friend for life and it’s one hell of a story I’ll quickly forget. First of all, the writing of the book was just OFF. The characters were described way too detailed – I don’t need to know the exact height of every single one of them – and sentences like “Shut up brain, it’s tummy turn now!” or “Don’t mind me, la la la” were annoying and useless. Also, why did she use brackets so much? (There were so many sentences like this!) You could always tell something’s wrong from more than 100 pages away – dating Theo was too easy and perfect, just like Natalie or Marnie weren’t too happy either. I hated it that Robin expected that a man will make all of her problems disappear. Adding to that, where’s the plot? Nothing happened and there wasn’t a solution at the end. Take on of her friends for example: she can’t get pregnant. No one knows why but that’s just the way it is and in the end, she’s still not pregnant. What was the point of all this? However, it was a quick read and I’m no longer 1 book behind schedule! Half a star for that :P
