Slow-Paced but Intriguing Enough to Finish

I went into “What Is Dark Within Me” with no real expectations, just diving into the story to see where it would take me. Unfortunately, it didn’t fully draw me in. I struggled to fully connect with the story throughout the book. The pacing felt a bit slow, which made it hard to stay engaged at times. It wasn’t a bad read—there was just enough intrigue to keep me going, even if I never felt fully immersed in the world or characters. The plot itself had potential, but it was somewhat predictable. There were moments where I hoped for a twist or a surprise, but things often played out exactly as expected. Still, the themes and ideas were interesting enough to make me want to see how it ended. That being said, it didn’t leave a strong enough impression on me to pick up the next book in the series. While the story was okay, it lacked the spark or excitement that would make me eager to dive back into this world. In the end, “What Is Dark Within Me” was an okay read. It didn’t completely capture me, but it might appeal to readers who enjoy slower, more predictable stories with a steady pace.
