I don't even know what to say. This was a train wreck. Started out so good, thought it's gonna have amazing betrayal drama but no. It was basically a duet forced into once book. The beginning was missing. We were supposed to see the nice moments between Nan and Major but no they were just "mentioned" and don't get me started on how it was Gannon/Cope who got the girl. I love characters like him but it did not work out in this story. Why? Because out of... Idek... 70??? Chapters he had 7 from is pov. Wtf? And he's supposed to be the main love interest. How are we supposed to root for him when he barely got a chance to tell his side of the story. We found out about him from Major who had half of the chapters. Basically Nan: 50% of the pov chapters Major: 45% of the pov chapters Cope: 5% of the pov chapters. Again. Cope is the main love interest. We were robbed at this point. Why focus on Major when he's not the damn love interest. Not to mention that he was annoying. I have only read 3 of this writer's books (this is my third) and I feel like she tried to insert one of those darker romance stories where we have a dark, brooding Hero with criminal/stalking problems. Love those books when they are done right. This one was NOT. It was all over the place, the male characters were a mess, we wasted too much time on major and didn't even have time for Nan. My God, this is what annoys me the most. This was supposed to be HER book. We were supposed to get how her brain works, we were supposed to see her deal with her actions and make us understand why she's the way she is. She's the villain of the series and yet... And yet she was so OOC here and we BARELY found out about how she's like (except for those OOC moments.) This book was a bad try to write a darker romance novel. It would have worked if A. The story showed us the Nan we have seen in previous books. B. The story was told from Cope's pov and not Major's 3. Was planned out and executed properly 4. Actually had romance??? Where was the romance?! Also don't get me started on how she baby trapped him. WTF was that about? This book is so depressing. It had so much potential but it went up in flames.
