But the vacation is short-lived.
The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.
With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

3.5 To be honest I hardly had any clue what happened in the previous book, but gladly this wasn't a problem at all. I might have been irritated about same names but I never had the feeling I was missing anything. I really enjoyed the final book of the Alienated series. In the previous books I often missed some action and in United it was finally there. There was lots of action, lots of twists and of course several sweet moments between Cara and Aelyx. The book is a great closure to the Alienated series and it definetely is my favourite part of the series.
This is the last book in the Alienated trilogy and I have to say this is one of my favorite series out there. It's unique, well-written and interesting from start to finish. It does have its faults, but they're mostly just my opinion and not everyone will agree with me. Pros: -It's different from most other YA romance -The romantic scenes are well-written -It's never boring because there's almost always something happening -The female lead is badass and lovable -Good character development -Likeable characters (for the most part) -It switches POV between the heroine and hero -Aelyx Cons: -The last two books focus less on romance and more on action -Jaxen -There was never a real love triangle even though it hinted at one -Tori and Eric don't exist after the second book apparently -Jaxen -Some big scenes felt anticlimactic -Some important scenes cut off abruptly and switched POV unnecessarily -Jaxen is the WORST Overall, I really enjoyed this trilogy, especially the first book. I'd recommend this to anyone that likes aliens, exploring new worlds, YA romance and loads of action. I'd say this is appropriate for ages 15 and up.
