I heard a lot of good things about book by these author so i expected much, I'm sad to say that my expection had been to high. Firstly Melanie has a style of writing, wich you can read really fluently. But besides this i had problems with getting in to the story. Because i missed that i was book tow in this series. One thing i love about this book ist the fact we get also snippets from their pasts because it made it really easy to see why the maincharacters acted like they did. Im so sad to had to say that sometimes i had to force myself to read this book ven if when read it it was easy because because of the fluent writng style. There had been where the tension between Chloe an Oliver got to me but then their also had been moments where i didn't was able to feel those things. This Story asks an important question in the right way in most parts in my opinion. But they are answers that i hadn't given in the same way. It seems like Chloe is an very hard working women. Also she is one who doesn't give second chances fast. She does a lot of things to get what she wants. Our Hero is man seems like it's hard to trust him. This Man knows how to be charming and braking hearts. All in i can say this well written story had some points that doesn't fit me. But there were god dialogs and some Funny scenes also. But for the first time in a long time it hadn't been this special yes feeling after finishing this story. So its clear that i'm going to give this book three stars.
I don't think I have rooted for a fictional couple to break up as much as I have for them recently. Oliver is so spoiled, self-centered and egotistical, even when he is groveling (and I use that term very lightly) all he says is "I want, I want, I want". I wouldn't mind as much if he was like this at the beginning, when he is younger (although the "I was nice to her, she should give me a hand job" thing was disgusting) but there is absolutely no character development on his part. At least she goes to therapy and tries to become a better person. This is why I can't stand the second chance trope, so I guess this is on me
3.5/5⭐️ i liked this book—i really did. the plot was a little different than what i usually read but I enjoyed it! i love chloe!! oliver had his sweet moments but i just can’t look over all the times he lied to chloe :( i’m VERY excited to continue this series!! melanie harlow, you’re my savior when it comes to getting out of a reading slump! <3
