Mein erstes Buch von L J Shen, das mich wirklich enttäuscht hat
Ich habe schon viele Bücher von L J Shen gelesen und war diesmal sehr enttäuscht. Die Charaktere empfand ich als sehr oberflächlich und wurde nicht warm mit ihnen. Blaire war gelinde gesagt anstrengend, Ty ziemlich Notgeil. L J Shen hat oftmals Inhalte, die polarisieren. Das ist auch diesmal so, wobei auch das fragliche Thema (Sex gegen Geld) erst hochkocht und dann unter den Tisch fällt. Blaire scheint zwar zwischendrin zu einer wichtigen Erkenntnis bzgl. Ty zu kommen, wirklich verarbeitet wird aber nichts. Glaube die Geschichte hätte viel Potenzial gehabt, für mich war sie nichts.
Mit MMA gibt es eine interessante ungewöhnliche Sportart und man merkt, dass die Autorin weiß, wovon sie schreibt. Aber die Lovestory ist sprunghaft, die Charaktere teilweise nicht greifbar und generell wirkt die Handlung sehr zweckmäßig. War nett für Nebenbei, aber die Autorin kann's besser. Fairerweise muss ich aber auch sagen: im Original erschien es im Juli 2015, also vor über 9 Jahren .
What a shame. This book could have had so much potential. The first half was good, even though the heroine is annoying but this changes in the second half where she becomes not only unlikable but probably one of my most hated main characters in fiction. Ever. I'm sorry but I just can't deal with someone this ignorant and ridiculous. Her attitude towards Ty in the second half when she finds out his secret is unjustified and the dude deserves so much better. Don't get me started on the sister. Just as annoying. Shane too. The only likable characters were Ty and Jesse. The one star is for the first half of the book and the wasted potential.
