Looking to recapture his lost possessions, Morpheus ventures to the human plane only to learn that a woman named Rose Walker has inadvertently become a dream vortex and threatens to rip apart his world. I adore Neil Gaiman and his work. But with Sandman I gotta be honest. It's not really for me. It makes my brain hurt, it's so bleak and broing in places. I don't like the art - usually that's the final nail in the coffin. But I keep reading and will finish this 1) because I've got the most gorgeous edition of a compendium I've ever seen and 2) because Gaiman creates such creative narratives, I can barely wrap my mind around it. I'm afraid I'm losing out on much of the deep connections and meaning, because I fail to connect the dots. But gaiman is a master storyteller and I'm sure, even if I find the story not to be the kind I particularly enjoy, I still don't want to miss out on them. So on it goes!
