Great mystery with a little queer paranormal fantasy. Great chemistry between the characters. Interesting world building.
“Murder was like getting a tattoo. The first one you carefully ask yourself why; each one after you ask yourself why not?” “There was a difference between not distrusting someone anymore and trusting them to let yourself be totally vulnerable.”
I lov them so much :') (Review for the whole series)
A perfect blend of mystery, romance, and supernatural intrigue! Big Bad Wolf delivers slow-burn tension, sharp banter, and a gripping procedural plot with werewolves in the mix. Cooper and Park’s partnership is filled with trust issues, sizzling chemistry, and emotional depth that evolves over the series. If you love enemies-to-lovers, reluctant partners, and a side of danger, this series is a must-read!
This was pretty entertaining. I didn’t have a clue who the murderer could be (there was a time where I suspected something that turned out to be wrong) and I really liked the ending. The relationship between Park and Cooper was nice as well, I liked how they weren’t head over heels for each other but more physically attracted with deeper going emotions developing. I read a lot of YA fantasy and most couples there are like “I would die for you, let’s be together forever and ever” after knowing each other for three days or some such. There were just two things I didn’t like: Too much inner monologue from Cooper. Of course, he had a lot to think about, but his train of thought was overly detailed and kind of disrupted the flow of the narration. The second thing that bothered me was how he should have had problems with his digestion, considering he didn’t follow the diet instructions given to him because of his injury, but he seemed to feel just fine. If you give your character a serious medical condition, which I really appreciate since there are way too many physically flawless characters out there, at least see it through or it will be unconvincing. Merged review: This was pretty entertaining. I didn’t have a clue who the murderer could be (there was a time where I suspected something that turned out to be wrong) and I really liked the ending.
