With Scatty, Joan of Arc, Saint Germain, Palamedes, and Shakespeare all in Danu Talis, Sophie is on her own with the ever-weakening Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel. She must depend on Niten to help her find an immortal to teach her Earth Magic. The surprise is that she will find her teacher in the most ordinary of places.

Besides the reunion of various characters there isn't much progress in the story for me and knowing that the next book takes until sommer 2012 makes me a bit sad. And despite the explanation by the author about the facts of the vimanas I still find it odd to see flying saucers there. Not to mention the alchemy trick to turn the seven headed monster back to an egg.
We're coming closer to the end and things are getting even more interesting when the reader is not only sent to different places and characters, but also now into a distant past time. The book ends with an even more mind-blowing twist and leaves you wanting to grab the next one right away. Still cannot make a good guess on how this unfolds and who's good or bad.
