The first book was... okay. It wasn't particularly interesting, mainly because the pacing kept moving so extremely fast it kinda lost it's impact. Person goes on quest to do X, person dies the next chapter, quest over. Every time something big was supposed to happen, they basically fast-forwarded and completed it the next chapter. And these chapters are short AF so it often felt like you blinked and it was over. There was no build-up, no tension, no suspense. The same for the romance in the book. However, book two slows to a crawl. It's like beauty/talent contests and The Bachelor had an ugly little baby. The many POVs don't help with the fact that nothing much seems to happen in each of them, and I really couldn't give a shit about the whole competition. So bored. I don't care for reality TV (or watching TV in general) and reading about shitty reality TV is even less enjoyable. It felt very much like a filler book, but the cliffhanger at the end was interesting enough that I'll keep reading despite how boring this book was.
