Not a romantic summer read
I suppose the advertising of this book has misled me to think that this was more of a romantic summer read than a biographic mystery/processing of traumatic events. I really enjoyed "Lie With Me" be the author, because it really touched me in its tragedy. I couldn't quite connect with the tragedy happening in this story. The way the narrator keeps breaking the narrative to point out how different the 1980s were compared to the present kept me somewhat disconnected from the story told or the emotions it could have evoked. I did enjoy the setting and I suppose with different expectations or a more transparent image of what this novella wants to be, I would have enjoyed the entire read much more.
