He lingers like the darkness that expands between the stars, and soon she discovers her captor's wicked means of control weren't based on a lie to keep her under locks after all. In her desperation, Astraea accepts Nyte's help before she can decide if she might have sold her allegiance to one of the bloodthirsty beings the people of her world fear.
Once their bargain is struck, Astraea's chance to escape comes in the form of accompanying her best friend Cassia to the King's Central. There on royal territory it's the centenary of the Libertatem, a succession of trials hosted by the king in which five human lands compete for a cycle of safety from the vampires seeking blood, claiming souls, and savaging after dark. So when tragedy strikes, Astraea must decide if taking the place of a murdered participant for the safety of her kingdom is a ruse is worth dying for, or if protection-and the answers to her past-really are her strongest desires.

Der Einstieg in The Stars Are Dying war etwas langsam, aber danach wurde es richtig spannend! Die Welt war mega interessant und hat mich neugierig gemacht. Astraea mochte ich, auch wenn sie manchmal ein bisschen vorhersehbar war. Nyte hatte interessante Seiten, aber da wäre noch mehr Tiefe drin gewesen. Die Vibes zwischen den beiden waren gut, aber ich hätte mir mehr Entwicklung gewünscht.
Fast, Slow, Copycat-Flow – eine Romantasy mit Identitätskrise!
“The Stars Are Dying” hat eine spannende Grundidee und eine düstere Romantasy-Atmosphäre, kommt aber nicht ohne Schwächen aus. Der Lesefluss schwankt – mal fesselnd, mal etwas zäh. Die Geschichte fühlt sich an wie eine Mischung aus bekannten Fantasy-Büchern und gibt mir etwas Copycat-Vibes (ich weiß das Rad ist nicht neu zu erfinden und ich bin da eigentlich auch recht großzügig, aber hier war es schon doll) bringt aber trotzdem ihren eigenen Charme mit. Die Protagonistin ist ziemlich naiv, und die vielen Handlungsstränge können manchmal etwas überwältigend sein. Die Romance schwankt zwischen Fast- und Slowburn, was nicht immer rund wirkt. Trotzdem: Wer typische Romantasy-Tropes mag, könnte hier Spaß haben!

+ Ich Perspektive 👍🏼 - Die Protagonistin war mir leider ein bisschen zu naiv an manchen Stellen.. - häufig sich wiederholende Unterhaltungen ( min. drölfzig Mal "vertraust du mir?" von Ihm, und sie schleudert ihm irgendwelche Beschimpfungen entgegen, um einen Satz später wieder an ihm zu kleben ) Zieht das Buch leider unnötig in die Länge Nette Story, konnte mich aber leider nicht überzeugen ..
it wasn't bad and i love nyte
i really enjoyed this book, especially all interactions with nyte. however it was extremely predictable which was sort of lame. and i hated how she was a damsel in distress at all times and so so stupid it annoyed me so much. there were also quite some dragging parts and unnecessary back and forth... i still have the 2nd book on SuB but can't get myself to read it because i didn't enjoy the first books ending a lot.
Plot mit viel Potenzial
Ich mochte die Geschichte an sich wirklich sehr, wobei ich sagen muss, dass ich leider nicht so richtig rein gekommen bin. Night mochte ich von der Sekunde an, als er in ihren Gedanken auftauchte 🌚 Leider haben mich zum Ende die Stimmungswechsel der Charaktere etwas genervt. Vertrauen - kein Vertrauen - Vertrauen…
